Last week we read books about wetlands. Students continued using feedback to revise and strengthen their poems. They chose a poem to publish in a class book. We began end-of-the-year assessments for reading. On Thursday afternoon we walked to B Street Trail to meet Mike Conroy, Lily's dad, who does habitat restoration. He took students through an exercise where they visualized what the wetland was like at different periods in the past and compared it to what it looks like now. They learned about some of the native plants and how they were used by the Kalapuya peoples.
In math, second graders continued to practice subtracting numbers with up to 3-digits. They began an assessment to show what they know. Second graders can complete any homework through module 4, lesson 31. First graders continued to work with the place value in two-digit numbers. First graders can complete all homework through module 4, lesson 4.
